You guys it is ‘Cardstock Carnival” time again during the month of March 2024 with CTMH which got me thinking about creating cardstock only layouts. I think lots of people assume a piece of cardstock is only for the base of layout or photo mats. But honestly you can create a whole double page spread with just cardstock.

Last year I worked on a fun series and just now realized that I didn’t write a blog post for the second part if the series where I took the one page layout and turned it into a double page spread.

Once you have your cardstock selected, it’s time to add some Chris-ification! This is where you can really let your creativity shine. I grabbed all the colourful bits and pieces that I wanted to play with. I create a ‘puny’ fun title that helped express my feeling from the photos I wanted to document.

I had so much fun creating the second page to this layout by pulling some of the same design principles from one page to the other. This is a perfect example of a layout you could create with 100% cardstock or swap out the layers for patterned papers for a completely different look.

It is time to grab some cardstock and a trimmer and have some fun! Here is how I extended the pattern from a single page to a double page spread!
